DESCRIPTION:\nDate: Tuesday, April 15, 2025\n\n\n\nLeaders: Kevin, Ken, Alice, RichardTransportation: Accessible by Public Transportation. Our starting point is across the street from the 72nd Street B/C Subway Station.Meeting Point: Our meeting location is just inside the park at the NE corner of 72nd Street and Central Park West.Schedule: Spring walks are held every Tuesday morning in April and May. They begin at 7:30 a.m., and while the trip usually ends in late morning, it also accommodates participants who need to leave early.Relative Difficulty: Expect to walk about two miles on (mostly) paved paths, with some moderate inclines.Trip Description: Central Park is one of the world’s premier birding spots, especially during spring and fall migrations. We encourage new or prospective Linnaean Society members and birders at all levels of experience to join. On a good day, we’ll see warblers, sparrows, vireos, and other migrants. Our leaders are knowledgeable about the plants and insects that each species prefers and will endeavor to point them out along the way. The walk begins at 72nd Street and Central Park West and typically proceeds through Strawberry Fields, Hernshead, Oak Bridge, and into the Ramble. Some leaders like to keep birding into the afternoon, but participants can easily leave as their personal schedules dictate.\n\n\n\nOur free and public migration walks are open to an unlimited number of members and non-members alike.
