We have seen shorebirds, Bonaparte’s Gulls, Horned Grebes, and other grebe species. Many rare birds may make surprise appearances. One year, a Summer Tanager stayed throughout the winter, eating bees found in a tree hole. Hairy Woodpeckers are not uncommon.
