The Linnaean Society of New York

Birds & Brews: Central Park

Date: Wednesday, May 5, 2027

Leader(s): Amanda Bielskas, Alan Drogan, Gillian Henry
Transportation: Public Transportation: Participants can use public transportation to arrive at the meeting location.
Meeting Point: West Side of Central Park, registrar will email with specifics for each walk after registration.
Schedule: The walk starts at 5:30 pm and if the weather and birds cooperate, will likely go until sunset.
Relative Difficulty: The terrain is mostly flat, with a few small slopes, making for easy walking.

Trip Description: This walk series is aimed at the after-work crowd, but anyone is welcome to join us! Central Park is one of the world’s premier birding spots, and we hope to take advantage of the longer daylight hours during peak migration to look for warblers, vireos, tanagers, and other spring migrants. The walk will start at 5:30 pm and we will search the Ramble or other Central Park hot spots for migrants before heading to a local bar around sunset for some casual conversations and libations.

Registration: Registration opens at 9 am on Monday, April 26. After that time, click here to register. Registration closes at 6 pm on Sunday, May 2. Members (and those who have applied for membership) will be prioritized over non-members.
