Watts our Eisenmann Medalist who will present his research on Eagle’s and their dramatic recovery in the Chesapeake Bay area. Dr. Watts is the Mitchell A. Byrd Professor of Conservation Biology and Director of The Center for Conservation Biology at William & Mary. He is also the author of more than 600 publications on avian ecology and conservation. 

Congratulations to Dr. Watts for receiving the 2025 Eisenmann Medal.

To our immense delight (clock those smiles), we were also treated to the rare sighting of a Northern Lapwing on a farm near Water Mill, Long Island. What a great trip! A huge thanks to Joe for delivering a magical winter birding experience.

Our speaker, Wesley Hochachka is a Senior Research Associate at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, where he has worked since 1998.
