Trip Description: Central Park is one of the world’s premier birding spots, especially during spring and fall migrations. We encourage new or prospective Linnaean Society members and birders at all levels of experience to join. On a good day, we’ll see warblers, sparrows, vireos, and other migrants. Our leaders are knowledgeable about the plants and insects that each species prefers and will endeavor to point them out along the way. Unlike our other Tuesday migration walks, this last walk of the Fall season will begin at 86th Street and Central Park West and will likely proceed through the Pinetum and the Resevoir, as well as through the Ramble and other areas. Some leaders like to keep birding into the afternoon, but participants can easily leave as their personal schedules dictate.
Our free and public migration walks are open to an unlimited number of members and non-members alike. Registration is necessary, as we assign a number of knowledgeable and enthusiastic experts to lead small groups of birders based on the overall number of registrants.
