Trip Description: POSTPONED FROM FEB 1 TO SUNDAY FEBRUARY 15. THERE ARE A FEW SPOTS LEFT – IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JOINING, PLEASE EMAIL THE REGISTRAR DIRECTLY at Ursula.Mitra@gmail.com . Staten Island’s habitats include woodlands, coastal beaches, marshes, parks, and more. We have seen shorebirds, Bonaparte’s Gulls, Horned Grebes, and other grebe species. Many rare birds may make surprise appearances. One year, a Summer Tanager stayed throughout the winter, eating bees found in a tree hole. Hairy Woodpeckers are not uncommon. The itinerary may evolve based on sightings or rare bird species.

Please read The Linnaean Society of New York COVID-19 Field Trip Guidelines before registering.
