Gull Walk with Amar Ayyash (Members Only)

Transportation: This trip will be a public transportation trip. We will not be arranging carpools.
Meeting Point: After your registration is confirmed, the Registrar will share directions, the exact meeting place, and time with attendees.
Schedule: The trip will be approximately two hours long and start in the morning.
Relative Difficulty: The trip may consist of long periods of time standing still.

Trip Description: Join renowned gull expert Amar Ayyash in a walk (LOCATION TBD) to study these underappreciated, versatile, and resilient species. The location will be determined based on local and current conditions. If you have one, please bring a scope, and be prepared to stand still for long periods. Amar is a leading authority on the gulls of North America, author of the quintessential Gull Guide, and a regular contributor to premier birding magazines and journals such as Birding, Western Birds, and North American Bird Bander. Host of the popular website anythinglarus.com, he organizes the Illinois Ornithological Society’s annual Gull Frolic on Lake Michigan, the largest gull-watching event in the United States.
