Central Park Fall Migration Walk with Richard Davis, Elijah Shiffer and Kevin Sisco, 10/13/2026

Registrar: Suzanne Zywicki
Participants: 40
Weather: Mild and sunny, with temperatures ranging from the low 50’s to the 70s
Bird Species: 58

After meeting at the West 72nd Street entrance to the park, we split into two groups and set off into and around Strawberry Fields. While warbler activity is slowing down, both groups saw a variety of sparrows and thrushes in good numbers. Several Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers were also seen, especially in the Pinetum, where the sapsucker drilling activity attracted Cape May and other warblers.
