Kathleen Lynch • The Role of Signal Detection Error in Mate Choice Plasticity • 6:00 pm • 4/14/15

Kathleen Lynch, who is a professor of biology at Hofstra University, writes about her talk: “I will discuss mate choice responses in animals that use vocal communication, discussing both the physiological and neurophysiological mechanisms that underlie errors in mate choice decision-making — including missed detections and permissive responses.” Lynch’s research interests include animal behavior and evolution as well as animal physiology and communication.
